Access Data

The provider and his webspace provider collect data on every visit to the webpage (so called server log files). These include: the name of the webpage visited, the date, the time, the quantity of the data transferred, the browser type and version, the operating system of the user, the referring URL (the page visited prior), the IP address and the requesting provider.

The provider only uses this data for statistic purposes in the interest of his business, the safety and the optimization of his page. The provider retains the right to use this data to investigate illegal use of his services.

Handling of personal data

Personal data is information that helps to individualize a person. This information includes the name, email address and telephone number but also information like hobbies, memberships or webpages visited.

The provider only collects, uses or forwards such personal data in cases where this is not against the law or in cases where the user agrees to the collection of his/her data.

Communication with the provider

In case of communication with the provider (e.g. via the contact form or email) the data of the user will be collected for purposes of processing the query or for possible follow up questions by the user.

Newsletter

To sign up for our newsletter you need to provide us with your name and a valid email address as well as with information that allows us to confirm that you own the email address provided. Further data will not be collected. This data will only be used for the newsletter and will not be distributed to third parties.

If you sign up for the newsletter, we will save your IP-address and the date of your sign up. The collection of this data only serves the purpose of evidence in case a third party abuses your email-address and signs up for the newsletter without your consent.

You may withdraw your consent to the collection of you data, your email address and the receipt of our newsletter at any time. The withdrawal may be done via a link in the newsletter itself or by way of notification to the contact details stated above.

Inclusion of services and content of third parties

It may occur that content of third parties is included in our online content, i.e. videos from YouTube, maps from Google-Maps, RSS-Feeds or graphs from other websites. This means that the providers of these services (in the following “third party providers”) collect the IP-address of users to be able to send their content to the user’s browser. The IP-address is a necessity for the display of such content. We make every effort to only use the content of providers which use the collected IP-addresses exclusively for purposes of the delivery of content. However, we do not have any influence in case a third party provider collects the IP-address for other, e.g. statistical, purposes.

Akismet

We use the Akismet anti-spam service, provided by Automattic, Inc., 132 Hawthorne Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA in order to separate spam from regular user comments. Comment and/or contact-data will be sent to and processed by Akismet solely for this purpose. Akismet stores the data up to 4 days, in case the the comment is rated as spam the data will be stored longer. The stored data includes name, e-mail-address, IP-address, the text of the comment, the referrer, information about the used browser and computer systems and the time of the entry.

Akismet does not save the comment data permanently on its servers unless a comment was marked as false positive, in which case Akismet stores it long enough to use it to improve the service to avoid future false positives. You may use a pseudonym for name and e-mail address. You can prevent the transmission of data to the USA as a whole, if you do not use our comment system. That would be a pity, but unfortunately we see no other alternatives that works just as effectively.
